MONDAY, APRIL 13, 2026
4TH Day of the April Term. The Commission Met Pursuant to Adjournment. Present were Presiding Commissioner Randy Ruzicka, Associate Commissioners Cory Ford and Mark Marberry along with Deputy County Clerk, Michele Gatzemeyer.
THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER BY PRESIDING COMMISSIONER RUZICKA AT 8:15 А.M. THE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING THAT WAS HELD ON THURSDAY, APRIL 9, 2026 WERE READ. COMMISSIONER MARBERRY MADE A MOTION TO APPROVE MINUTES AS PRESENTED. COMMISSIONER FORD SECONDED THE MOTION. COMMISSIONER MARBERRY YEA. COMMISSIONER FORD YEA. ALL IN FAVOR. MOTION PASSED.
Mr. Scott Schmieder, R&B Foreman, appeared before the Commission to provide report for today’s Commission Meeting. Following were the items reported:
*Mr. Schmieder noted that all pipes needed to proceed with Genevieve Church Road have not yet been delivered.
The Ste. Genevieve Recycling Center sponsored an “E-Cycling” Event this past Saturday @ SGI. Vendor that handled event in coordination with the Recycling Center was MARCK Recycling. All participation is appreciated as the ‘Goal/Mission’ of Event is to continue to keep as much as possible out of landfills! E-Cycling Event was made possible through Solid Waste Grant that also includes repair ‘call’ to antiquated Glass Crusher Machine as well as (2) new ‘Dumpster/Hoppers’. The ‘Total Amount’ requested on this particular grant was amount of $11,254.12

County Government Day was held at Courthouse today. The Commissioner’s Office had (6) students participate between both local high schools, Ste. Genevieve RIl as well as Valle Catholic. The Commission went into ‘In-Depth’ Detail to explain what they do in their positions. The students were extremely engaged and ended the County Government Day with a luncheon that was provided by the American Legion Post 150 along with the Women’s Auxiliary. A huge ‘Thank You’ extended to the ‘Legion Members as well as the Ladies Auxiliary’.
Sealed Bid Opening was held at 10:15 A.M. with Officer Jason Schott present as was advertised for ‘Storage Containers’ that are much needed at the Ste. Genevieve Sheriff’s Department. Only (1) Bid was received; thus this was the only ‘Bid’ opened.
*Sole Bid was received by “Falcon Structures” – located in Manor, Texas.
*Bid Proposal was for (2) separate storage units with 20 ft. ‘Climate Controlled Premium Floor Plan’. *Delivery Included.
*Exterior to be ‘Painted’ – Base Palette.
*Unit(s) to include Commercial Exterior Door(s) -4 ft./3″ Spray Foam Under Floor for entire 20 ft. unit(s).
*Both units to include ‘Operable Cargo Doors’.
*The “Total Proposed Cost” of BOTH UNITS – $42,097.48.
The Commission to review said proposal in detail. Final Award to be made at future meeting.

Jason Schott, on behalf of Ste. Genevieve County ‘911’ Tax Emergency Services Board appeared before the Commission. Invoice detail received from ‘Tait Communication’ for the capital improvement project that was previously approved and necessary for updates/improvements to radio communications/towers for ‘911’ Services. The ‘Total’ Invoice Detail received by ‘911’ from Tait Communications was for an amount of $695,266.00. Ste. Genevieve County ‘911’ Tax Emergency Services Board had amount of $180,000 to pay towards invoice detail. Remaining amount due.
*After a great deal of careful consideration, Commissioner Ford made a ‘Motion’ to approve payment of the ‘remaining balance’ for amount of $515,266.00 as was presented. This funding request was previously approved based on “loan’ that was designed to be ‘flowthrough’ for this very purpose and was budgeted in 2026 County Budget. Commissioner Marberry seconded the ‘Motion’. Commissioner Ford yea. Commissioner Marberry yea. All in favor. Motion passed. As per previously reported, County Youth Building @ Ste. Genevieve County Fairgrounds had to be addressed. ‘Leaking Water’ issue resulted in the need for mold remediation. Issue was addressed by Midwest Environmental Studies @ cost of $1,200. Said company has provided this service to the ‘County’ on previous projects. The following updates were provided by Commissioner Ford as it relates to Community Center. *Decorative Trusses @ River Rapids Water Park Entrance in need of power washing/painting.
*Bazan is currently working @ Waterpark; prep work for painting currently underway.
Additional participants for ‘Taste of Ste. Genevieve’ presented necessary paperwork to Ste. Genevieve County to participate in said event. Notification provided to ‘Friends Foundation’ @ SGCMH. (Copies located in applicable folder in County Clerk’s Office.) Accounts Payable for Date 4/13/2026 in the amount of $210,975.76 were reviewed and approved for payment by the Commission.
ADJOURN A Motion was made by Commissioner Ford to adjourn @ 12:00 P.M. Commissioner Marberry seconded the ‘Motion’.
