The City of Chester announces ‘Chester Cruise-In’ events

CHESTER, IL — The City of Chester is proud to announce the Chester Cruise-In, a recurring family-friendly social gathering for car enthusiasts and the local community. Starting in April 2026, the event will take place on the third Saturday of each month through October. 

 

Held at the Cohen Recreation Complex (Field 1 Parking Lot) from 4-8 p.m., the Cruise-In invites owners of muscle cars, classic cars, late-model vehicles, customized trucks, and motorcycles to showcase their vehicles. 

 

Participants can compete for trophies in categories including Best Paint, Best Engine, and Best Interior. Dash plaques will be awarded to the first 50 entrants each month. 

 

The event will feature family-oriented games and activities. Future activities will include car part identification games, tire changing game, air cleaner ring toss, Hot Wheels drag races, exhaust competition and a Junior Cruise In just for kids.

 

Local artisans and crafters are invited to set up and sell their wares in a dedicated market area called Vendor’s Pit Row.

The Chester Cruise-In is about more than just cars; it’s a community-oriented event designed to highlight the creativity and skill of vehicle owners while providing a fun atmosphere for all ages.

Each monthly event is sponsored by a local business. April’s Cruise In is sponsored by Randy’s Service Center, Chester, IL

Chester Rent One will be providing sound equipment for our music entertainment.

Concessions will be provided by Granny’s Back Concessions, home of the Garbage Nachos and Granny Burger. 

 

Registration for participants takes place from 4-5 p.m. on the day of the event.
