Willis V. Koenig, 85, of Farrar, Missouri was called home Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, MO.
He was born April 10, 1940 to Edwin and Alma (Luehers) Koenig. He was baptized on April 14, 1940 at Point Rest, MO. He was confirmed on April 11, 1954 at Salem Lutheran Church, Farrar. He graduated from Perryville High School in 1958.
Willis and Janet Brueckner were married September 25, 1965.
He was a faithful member of Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar, MO. He served on the Salem Men’s Club for many years. He was on the board for MFA Exchange, MFA Oil Company, and Perry County Soil and Water. He was a member of the National Guard and was a lifetime crop and cattle farmer. He was a consigner to the Show Me Select Heifer Program Sale since it’s inception in 1997. Willis was a loving husband, dad and pawpaw. He was very proud of his family, especially his grandchildren. He never missed a chance to attend a sporting event, or a cattle show. After he could no longer climb on his beloved John Deere 3020 he was kept busy taking and picking up his grandkids from school. He never said no when asked if he could run someone here or there. If you were ever a passenger with him, you would likely never win a game of yogurt.
He is survived by his wife, Janet, their five children, Timothy (Robyn) Koenig of Farrar, MO, Andrew (Emily) Koenig of Perryville, MO, Jon (Amanda) Koenig of Frohna, MO; Rebecca (Nathan) Hunt of Frohna, MO, Sara (Colby) Palisch of Frohna, MO; fourteen grandchildren, Ethan Koenig, Lane Koenig, Joel Koenig, Lydia Hunt, Lucas Koenig, Austin Hunt, Isaac Koenig, Ella Koenig, Mya Koenig, Ansley Palisch, Jessica Koenig, Noah Koenig, Afton Palisch, Alma Palisch; brother, Wayne Koenig of Perryville, MO.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Norman & Dennis Koenig; sister, Ruby Weibusch; one sister-in-law.
Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, March 23, 2026 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville and will continue from 8:00 am to 9:50 am on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar, MO.
Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar with the Rev. John Philip Hellwege Jr. officiating.
Burial will be at Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Farrar.
