Firefighters battle house fire in St. Mary

Ste. Genevieve County Fire Protection District

 

STE. GENEVIEVE – (Monday) morning just after 7 a.m., crews from Station 8 and Station 6, along with automatic aid from the Ste Genevieve Fire District and Ste Genevieve County Ambulance District, were dispatched by St. Francois County 911 to a residential structure fire in the 24000 block of Highway 61 in St. Mary.

 

While units were en route, dispatch advised that the structure was reported to be fully involved. Crews arrived on scene to find a residence heavily involved with fire and immediately deployed attack lines to begin suppression efforts.

 

Additional resources from Stations 1, 2, and 7, along with the Perryville Fire Department, were requested to assist with extinguishment and overhaul operations.

 

Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Due to the extensive damage, the cause of the fire is currently undetermined.
