STE. GENEVIEVE – The Ste. Genevieve County School District R-II has released a draft of the proceedings of the March 13th Board of Education meeting.

  1. OPEN SESSION
  2. Call to Order A quorum being present and due notice having been published, the regular meeting of the Board of Education of the Ste. Genevieve County R-II School District was called to order on Monday, March 16, 2026 at 6:31 PM by President Mr. Eric Basler.

  4. Approval of the Agenda Motion to approve the Agenda of the March 16, 2026 Regular (Open) Session Meeting. Motion made by: Mr. James Kirchner Motion seconded by: Mrs.             Martha Resinger Voting: Unanimously Approved

 

  1. MSBA MONTHLY REPORT – The March 2026 Board Report took a look at where we are with AI in schools in 2026 and the ways that school leaders can learn more about this rapidly evolving technology. Plus, a quick look at the key issues as we reach the midpoint of the 2026        Missouri legislative session, and a celebration of school board members as we observe School Board Recognition Month. The MSBA Board Report is a short monthly video featuring the latest news from MSBA and about public education in Missouri. The program is designed to be           shown during local school board meetings.

  1. REPORT OF THE SUPERINTENDENT
  2. Annual School Board Election The Ste. Genevieve R-II School District has completed candidate filing for the District’s Board of Directors. In accordance with § 115.124, RSMo., no election will be held because the number of candidates who filed is equal to the number of open            positions. The following candidates will be sworn into office at the School Board’s    reorganization meeting: Martha Resinger, Eric Basler, and James Kirchner.
  3. MSBA – School Board Recognition Month Dr. Taylor recognized the Board of Education in honor of the Governor of Missouri’s proclamation declaring March as School Board         Appreciation Month. He expressed appreciation for the board members’ time, dedication, and    service to the district, acknowledging their ongoing commitment to supporting students, staff,      and the community.
  4. Kindergarten Registration – 2026–2027 School Year Dr. Taylor informed the Board that kindergarten registration is underway, noting that Ste. Genevieve Elementary completed   registration last Saturday and Bloomsdale Elementary is scheduled to hold registration this      coming Saturday.
  5. MAP Grade Level Assessments Assistant Superintendent Dr. Lance McClard provided the set dates for MAP grade level assessments.
  6. MAP End of Course Exams Assistant Superintendent Dr. Lance McClard provided the set dates for MAP end of course exams.
  7. 2025-26 Recognition & Retirement Banquet Dr. Taylor announced that the district Retirement and Recognition Banquet will be held Friday, May 8, 2026 at the Ste. Genevieve   Elks Lodge beginning at 6:00 PM.
  8. Principal Reports Dr. Bethany Koetting, Dr. Nanya Gegg, Mr. Nathan Kingery and Dr. Scott Mercer presented updates on activities and accomplishments at their respective buildings. Dr.      John Boyd introduced two students to report on high school activities.
  9. 2025-26 MAESP Distinguished Principal Award Dr. Taylor announced that Dr. Nanya             Gegg, Principal of Ste. Genevieve Elementary, has been named a recipient of the 2025–2026             MAESP Distinguished Principal Award. He congratulated Dr. Gegg on this well-deserved             recognition and commended her leadership, dedication, and positive impact on students, staff,      and the school community.           

 

  1. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
  2. Instructional Program Presentation – High School Business Business teachers Mrs. Kaitlyn Crump and Mr. Jarrod Basler presented an overview of the high school business program,             highlighting curriculum offerings, student opportunities, and program achievements.
  3. Prop SG Updates Dr. Taylor updated the Board on the ongoing progress and timeline of the wrestling facility project associated with Prop SG.

  2. 2025-26 Calendar Adjustment Motion to approve the revised 2025-26 District Calendar as presented. Motion made by: Mr. Philip Kwan Motion seconded by: Mrs. Jamie Ballew Voting:             Unanimously Approved
  3. Insurance Rates for the 2026-27 School Year Motion to approve the health, dental, vision, and life insurance rates for the 2026-27 school year as presented. Motion made by: Mr. Joshua            Gettinger Motion seconded by: Mrs. Martha Resinger Voting: Unanimously Approved
  4. Community Engagement Plan Motion to approve the updates to the Community Engagement Plan as presented. Motion made by: Mr. James Kirchner Motion seconded by: Mr. Philip Kwan Voting: Unanimously Approved         
  5. Bid: Beverage Services & Products Motion to approve the recommendation to award the exclusive beverage vending and beverage supply contract to Heartland Coca-Cola Bottling Co,    LLC for a five-year term, effective July 1, 2026. Motion made by: Mrs. Jamie Ballew Motion   seconded by: Mrs. Geri Diesel Voting: Unanimously Approved
  6. Systems Administrator Position Motion to revise the Assistant Director of Technology position and the Technology Aide position to Systems Administrator positions. Motion made by: Mrs. Geri Diesel Motion seconded by: Mrs. Martha Resinger Voting: Unanimously   Approved
  7. 2025-26 Amended Budget Motion to approve the March Amended Budget for the 2025-26 school year as presented. Motion made by: Mrs. Jamie Ballew Motion seconded by: Mr. Joshua             Gettinger Voting: Unanimously Approved
