Raymond Francis Hess, 82, of Gardner, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at his residence.
Raymond was born to the late Herman Joseph and Florence Josephine (nee Kelley) Hess on December 19, 1943, in Red Bud, Illinois. He grew up in Red Bud, where he graduated from high school.
Raymond married Gladys Elizabeth Surman on May 1, 1965, in Red Bud, Illinois; she survives.
He owned and operated Select Flooring Distributors, Inc. Raymond was a member of Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and the Lions Club in Gardner, Kansas
Survivors: Wife: Gladys Hess of Gardner, KS; 3 Children: Kevin (Kathy) Hess Olathe, KS, Melissa Russell Olathe, KS and Chris (Keli) Hess Gardner, KS; three Siblings: Eva Joan (Art) Ahne Waterloo, IL, Patricia (Don) Stimler Decatur, IL, and Roger (Carol) Hess Red Bud, IL; 8 Grandchildren; 3 Great-Grandchildren; Many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters; Josephine Gregson and Geraldine Vogt.
