Downtown Perryville receives grant for revitalization services

BRANSON, MO. – Missouri Main Street Connection (MMSC) has awarded Downtown Perryville Advancement, Inc. (Downtown Perryville) a cost-sharing, People Energizing Places (PEP) Grant for their readiness to grow and implement the Main Street methodology for the success of their downtown.

Over the next two years, Downtown Perryville will receive training, mentoring, and technical services, through the PEP Grant valued at $38,400, to advance their efforts to the next steps in revitalizing Perryville’s downtown.

MMSC will begin with Keith Winge, State Community Development Director, and Ben White, Senior Program Specialist, visiting the Board of Directors to evaluate existing and future needs of Perryville’s downtown.

Then a series of customized training will equip the community with the tools and knowledge to achieve their revitalization goals.

MMSC State Director, Gayla Roten believes, “The PEP Grant is an opportunity to strengthen Downtown Perryville’s organizational foundation, build upon Perryville’s current growth, continue the momentum currently happening with partnerships, and create a downtown that continues to serve the community.”

With support from MMSC, the Downtown Perryville program anticipates:

• Utilizing momentum from recent and upcoming projects to continue the growth of the organization’s impact on the community.

• Developing their downtown revitalization efforts further through the training and guidance provided by MMSC.

• Strengthening the organization’s relationship with individuals, businesses, and other organizations throughout the community.
