STE. GENEVIEVE – Sales tax receipts for the city of Ste. Genevieve continue to decline.
So far this calendar year, the receipts from the three city sales taxes fell a combined $17,622.
The month of February did show an increase for one of the three taxes compared to the previous February. The one percent city tax was up nearly $2,903, but the other two taxes were down around $289 each so the total of the three taxes was up $2,325.
There is a bright spot in the Ste. Genevieve sales tax report: the consolidated city sales tax was up $8,269 for February and so far this year, is up $10,216.
Reports of sales tax from Perryville and Ste. Genevieve County have not yet been received.
