MURPHYSBORO, IL – Egyptian Electric Cooperative Association (EECA) is pleased to announce its upcoming Fields & Wires Safety Workshop, designed for first responders, farmers, highway personnel, and any individual whose job requires them to work near overhead or underground power lines.

The workshop will be held on Friday, March 27, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the EECA headquarters at 1732 Finney Road in Murphysboro.
Attendees will learn about recognizing potential electrical hazards and how to navigate real-life scenarios such as downed lines and vehicle crashes with poles or pad mount transformers. Egyptian Electric will also share farming safety tips to prevent incidents with electrical lines above ground and below.
EECA will be joined by special guest speaker, Danny Werries, Safety Director at New-Mac Electric Cooperative in Neosho, Missouri. Danny will share his powerful firsthand experience with a hydraulic oil injection injury and discuss important lessons learned about job-site safety.
Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m., with the program and time for questions to follow.
