Elmer W. Oswald, 84, of Perryville, Missouri passed away Friday, March 6, 2026 at Mercy- Perry Hospital.
He was born November 15, 1941 in Crosstown, MO to Walter and Emma (Lohmann) Oswald.
Elmer and Velma were married on June 22, 1963 at Peace Lutheran Church in Woodson Terrace, MO and were blessed with 62 years of marriage.
He was an expediter for McDonnell Douglas.
Elmer enjoyed fishing, camping, dart ball, watching airplanes, telling stories, and jokes. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville, MO.
Survivors include a son: David Oswald; a daughter: Christina Oswald; a daughter-in-law: Tracy Oswald; a brother: Alvin Oswald; five grandchildren: Nathan (Ryley) Oswald, Alex Oswald, Adam Oswald, and Emma Oswald; and a great-grandchild, Mia Oswald.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Wilbert Oswald; son: Terry Oswald; and daughter-in-law: Janine Oswald.
Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Ford & Young Funeral Home and 8-9:50 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2026 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Perryville, MO.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2026 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville with the Rev. Matthew Marks Officiating.
Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Perryville.
Memorial contributions may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
