Wine Trail celebrates Missouri food and farmers

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.–Food and wine lovers from across Missouri will have the opportunity to learn more about today’s agriculture during The Farmers’ Table Wine Trail April 11 in Hermann, Mo. The event is made possible through a unique partnership between Missouri CommonGround, the Hermann Wine Trail, participating wineries, and the Missouri Wine and Grape Board.

Showcasing the best of what Missouri agriculture has to offer, The Farmers’ Table Wine Trail features tasting experiences at six Hermann Wine Trail locations including Adam Puchta Winery, Dieberg Star Lane Tasting Room, G. Husmann Wine Company, Hermannhof Winery, Reserve Cellars of Hermann, and Röbller Vineyard.

“The Farmers’ Table Wine Trail is a great way to celebrate two things Hermann does best, exceptional wine and delicious food pairings, while giving visitors a chance to meet a few of the farmers who help make it all possible,” said Patty Held, president of the Hermann Wine Trail. “It’s a fun, relaxed setting that creates real conversations about where our food comes from and how it’s produced.”

Along the way, attendees will sample award-winning wines paired with Missouri corn and corn-fed protein, including beef, pork, dairy, chicken, and eggs, to highlight the state’s diverse agricultural landscape. At each stop, Missouri CommonGround volunteers will be available to share their farming experiences, answer questions, and provide recipe cards featuring each commodity.

Tickets for the event are $35 and include wine and food pairings, a souvenir wine glass, and the chance to enter a drawing for a Missouri-themed gift basket and a one-night stay in Hermann. A limited number of tickets are available and must be purchased online at www.hermannwinetrail.com. Tickets usually sell out before the event.

Now in its eighth year, the Farmers’ Table Wine Trail continues to connect consumers with the farmers behind their food while showcasing the role agriculture plays in Missouri. Missouri CommonGround is a group of volunteer farm women who share their real-life farming experiences and answer questions about food and farming. The program is supported by the Missouri Corn Merchandising Council.
