A funeral will be held Monday, February 28, 2022 for 93-year-old Delbert K. Rubach of Chester, Ill., who passed away at 9:11 p.m., Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Sparta Community Hospital, Sparta, Illinois.
He was born October 24, 1928 in Chester, Ill. the son of Arnold and Marie (nee Redecker) Rubach, who both preceded him in death.
He married Rita Hennemann on November 4, 1950 in Piggot, Arkansas; she preceded him in death on November 28, 2005.
He is survived by two sons: Kenneth Rubach of St. Louis, Mo. and Gary Rubach of Chester, Ill.; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by: a granddaughter: Carlie Rubach and a sister: Viola Guebert.
He had worked in maintenance and as a mechanic at Peabody Coal for 21 years.
Delbert was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Chester, Illinois.
He was also a member of the Eagles Club Aerie No. 3252 and a lifetime member of the American Legion Post No. 487 and V.F.W. Post No. 3553 in Chester.
He enjoyed tinkering with riding lawnmowers.
He was a Korean War Army veteran.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Monday, February 28, 2022 at the Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester, Ill.
A funeral for 93-year-old Delbert K. Rubach of Chester will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, February 28, 2022 at the Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester, Ill. Bob Lonning will officiate.
Interment will be in the Paradise Cemetery in Steeleville, Illinois
