PERRYVILLE, MO. – A recent study shows that only one in six farmers nearing retirement have a formal succession plan in place for their operation. Recognizing the importance of preparing farms for the next generation, University of Missouri Extension in Perry County will offer a Farm Succession Planning Workshop to help farmers and landowners begin building a succession plan.
This workshop is one of MU Extension’s most popular programs and provides participants with the opportunity to begin thinking about how their farm will transition to their successors. The class will be taught by Randy Stephens, University of Missouri Extension Field Specialist in Agricultural Business.
The event will be held on March 5, 2026, starting at 6:00 p.m. at the Catalyst Center for Business, 508 North Main Street in Perryville. Dinner will be provided.
Seating is limited and registration is required by calling the MU Extension Office in Perryville at (573) 547-4504.
This workshop is made possible through the Perry County Senior Services Tax Commission and is free for Perry County residents age 55 and older. Non-residents and participants under age 55 are welcome to attend with a $25 registration fee.
