Arrest made in alleged overdose death

STE. GENEVIEVE – In the morning hours of Friday, January 23, 2026, the Ste. Genevieve Police Department responded to a call for service in reference to an overdose.

 

A male subject who was on scene was taken in for questioning.

At the conclusion of the interview Dylan Derousse was taken into custody and transported to the Ste. Genevieve County Jail, where he is being held on a $100,000 cash-only bond.

 

Derousse is being charged with second degree murder and distribution of a controlled substance.

 

This investigation serves as a reminder of the devastating impact illegal drugs continue to have on our community.
