Kenny Ray Homan, 61, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 6:40 pm, Saturday, January 17, 2026 at SIH Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, Carbondale, Illinois.
He was born to the late Wilbert “Wib” C. and Mabel D. (nee Verseman) Homan on September 15, 1964 in Red Bud, Illinois.
Kenny married Melanie Clarkson on July 23, 1983 at St. John Lutheran Church in Chester, Illinois; she survives in Chester..
He is also survived by his mother-in-law: Carolyn Clarkson of Alton, IL; a brother: Kevin (Mary Jo) Homan of Chester, IL; a sister-in-law: Tanya Clarkson of Peoria, IL; nieces and nephews: Mary Beth (Derek) Coulson of Johnston City, IL, Ashley (Krystal) McDaniel of Perryville, IL, Sandy (Garrett) McBride of Perryville, MO, and Danielle (Gunner) Scott of Chester, IL; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
He was also preceded in death by: his parents, a sister: Connie McDaniel, his father-in-law: Andy Clarkson and a sister-in-law: Michelle Lee Wright.
He was a truck driver for Gilster Mary-Lee Corporation for 42 years.
Kenny was a former member of the Eagles Club Aerie No. 3252 in Chester. He was a hard worker and enjoyed driving cross country in his truck. Kenny also loved going to Al’s for breakfast and visiting and talking with people.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Saturday, January 31, 2026 at the Pechacek Funeral Homes, Chester, Illinois.
A funeral service for 61-year-old Kenny Ray Homan will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 31, 2026 at the Pechacek Funeral Homes, Chester, Illinois. Officiating: Dr. Mike Fogerson.
Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Chester, Illinois.
