Bro. F. Joseph Hess C.M., 87, residing at Lazarist Residence in St. Louis, Missouri entered into eternal rest Monday, January 12, 2026 at the Apostle of Charity Residence, Perryville, Missouri.
He was born May 29, 1938 in Crystal City, MO to Francis Joseph and Marguerite H. (Huber) Hess.
Bro. Joseph Hess C.M. was a Roman Catholic Brother and member of the Congregation of the Mission. He entered the Novitiate at St. Mary’s of the Barrens in Perryville on May 30, 1957 and professed his vows at St. Mary’s of the Barrens in Perryville on May 31, 1959. He was vowed for 66 years and worked as a treasurer in various Vincentian houses located in Illinois, Missouri and Colorado.
Survivors include two brothers, James Hess & Leonard Hess; sister, Mary Schroeder.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm.on Friday, January 16, 2026 at the Mary Mother of God Chapel in the Apostle of Charity Residence in Perryville.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am Saturday, January 17, 2026 at the Mary Mother of God Chapel in the Apostle of Charity Residence, followed by Rite of Committal in the Vincentian Community Cemetery in Perryville with Rev. James Cormack C.M. officiating.
Memorial contributions may be given to Congregation of the Mission.
