Marlena Lueken named January Rotary Student of the Month

STE. GENEVIEVE — Marlena Lueken has been named the Rotary Student of the Month for January from Ste. Genevieve High School.

 

 

Marlena is the daughter of Sheila and Tim Lueken.

 

Marlena’s scholastic honors include: earning Summa Cum Laude one year, Magna Cum Laude two years and receiving the German I award. Marlena has been a member of the following clubs and organizations: Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA); Tri-M Music Honor Society (treasurer); Thespian Honor Society (treasurer); and Theatre Club. Marlena has been a member of the SGHS Marching Band all four years of high school, and is the woodwind section leader. She has been chosen for the MAAA Honors Band both her junior and senior years, and has been selected to be a part of the Missouri Fine Arts Academy.

 

Marlena is employed at McDonald’s in Bloomsdale. In her free time, Marlena enjoys reading, baking, listening to music, watching musicals and hanging out with friends.

 

Marlena plans to attend the University of Missouri–Kansas City, where she will major in pre-med and earn a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry. She intends to continue her medical education at the UMKC School of Medicine, pursue her M.D., and ultimately become an anesthesiologist.
