MURPHYSBORO, IL – State Senator Terri Bryant (R-Murphysboro) is inviting residents across southern Illinois to help spread cheer this Valentine’s Day by participating in her annual Valentines for Seniors Card Drive.
The initiative encourages individuals, families, classrooms, churches, and community groups to create or sign Valentine’s Day cards that will be delivered to local seniors, including those living in nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
“Our seniors deserve to know they are remembered and appreciated,” said Senator Bryant. “A simple card can brighten someone’s day and remind them that their community cares. This is an easy way for people of all ages to make a meaningful difference.”
Valentine’s Day cards can be dropped off or mailed to one of Senator Bryant’s district offices by February 6, 2026:
Murphysboro District Office:
1032 W. Industrial Park Road, Murphysboro, IL 62966
Drop-off hours: 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
Mt. Vernon District Office:
2929 Broadway Street, Suite 3, Mt. Vernon, IL 62864
Drop-off hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
During business hours, cards should be placed in the marked mailbox inside each office. A small mailbox is also available outside for after-hour drop-offs.
Bryant said she hopes the card drive will once again bring smiles to seniors throughout the region. “Something as small as a Valentine can have a big impact,” continued Senator Bryant. “I encourage everyone who can to take part in this opportunity to make a local senior’s day.”
