A funeral will be held Friday, February 18, 2022 for 90-year-old William “Bill” Fritsch Sr. of Sainte Genevieve, Mo. who passed away Monday, February 14, 2022 at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital in Sainte Genevieve.
He was born October 2, 1931 in River Aux Vases, Mo. the son of Francis “Frank” Fritsch and Anna (Koller) Fritsch, who both preceded him in death.
He married Rosella (Huber) Fritsch on October 27, 1956. She survives in Ste. Genevieve.
He is also survived by three daughters: Cathy (Nelson) Pfaff of Sainte Genevieve, Cindy (Robert) Naeger of Sainte Genevieve, and Diana (Paul) Valleroy of Cape Girardeau, Mo; a son: William (Kristy) Fritsch Jr. of Chattanooga, Tenn.; a sister-in-law: Virginia Fritsch of Ste. Genevieve; grandchildren: Andrea (Tim) Robbins, Lauren Gordon, Caden (April) Gordon, Danielle (Bryce) Waggoner, Clayton Naeger, Tessa Valleroy, Ella Valleroy and Cole Fritsch; and a great grandson: Casen Gordon.
He was also preceded in death by a sister: Leona (Felix) Hoog; and a brother: Anthony Fritsch.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, February 17, 2022 and 8-9:45 a.m. Friday, February 18, 2022 at the Basler Funeral Home in Sainte Genevieve,
A funeral for 90-year-old William “Bill” Fritsch Sr. of Sainte Genevieve will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, February 18, 2022 at the Church of Sainte Genevieve. The Rev. Mitchell Baer will officiate.
Burial will be at Valle Spring Cemetery in Sainte Genevieve with military graveside services performed by VFW Post 2210
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 150 and he was life member of VFW Post 2210 and he served as commander two times.
Bill served in the Korean War as a sergeant in the combat engineers.
Bill enjoyed working with kids, giving them rides around the block, most of all he loved to spend time with his family and friends and attending the grandchildren’s events.
