A celebration of life will be held at a later date for 70-year-old Larry Joseph Zahner of Ste. Genevieve who passed away on December 17, 2025, surrounded by family.
Larry was born March 4, 1955 in Perryville, Missouri a son of Lonnie Zahner and Lucille Miles who both preceded him in death.
Larry is survived by his loving children: Jennifer (Gregory) Inman, Travis (Renee) Zahner, and JoBeth (Nathan) Ellett.
He was a proud grandfather to Peyton Inman, Elliot Inman, Taylor Ellett, Blake Ellett, and Chase Ellett, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
He is also survived by his five sisters: Mary Kirn, Debbie (Denny) Thieret, Linda Hudson, Margie Loos, and Lawana Kirn, as well as his sisters-in-law, Pris Zahner and Margie Zahner, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Larry was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Gladys Zahner; his brothers, Ron Zahner, Dale Zahner, and David Zahner; and his brothers-in-law, Don Kirn, Cecil Hudson, Dick Loos, and Sylvester Kirn.
Above all else, Larry cherished his roles as a father and grandfather. His love for his children and grandchildren was steady, unconditional, and evident in everything he did. He found his greatest joy in time spent with them, whether through conversation, laughter, or simply being present.
He spent the majority of his life in Ste. Genevieve where he raised his children. He retired from Chrysler, where he worked for many years as a dedicated auto worker. Though he took pride in his career, Larry was most proud of the life he built with his family.
Larry will be remembered for his quiet strength, devotion to his family, and the love he so freely gave. His legacy lives on through his children and grandchildren, who will carry his memory with them always.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service at a later date.
