A funeral will be held Saturday, December 13, 2025 for 86-year-old William L. Baumann of Sainte Genevieve, Mo. who passed away Sunday, December 7, 2025.
He was born June 24, 1939, son of Carl Baumann and Hildegard R. (Klein) Baumann.
He is survived by two sons: William “Bill” L. (Mary) Baumann, Jr., and Gary F. (Sue) Baumann; two daughters: Geri A. (Dave) Rice and Marcy C. (Drew) Gonz; a sister: Carla Coleman and a brother: Francis (Joann) Baumann.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Jeanette M. Baumann; a sister: Mary Jane Moro; a brother: Charles Baumann;
Visitation will be at Basler Funeral Home in Sainte Genevieve, MO on Friday, December 12, 2025 from 4:00 pm till 8:00 pm and Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 8:00 am till 9:30 am
Service will be at Sts. Philip and James Church in River Aux Vases, MO on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 10:00 am.
Burial will be at Sts. Philip and James Cemetery in River Aux Vases, MO
Memorials can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or personal choice
Willie was a lifelong resident of River Aux Vases where he loved his family, farming, and having fun with others. Throughout his life he worked at a number of jobs: selling seed corn and livestock feed, working at Mississippi Lime and for Vern Bauman Contracting. From the time he was a boy, he loved farming, which he learned from his Grandpa Klein, several uncles, and a number of neighbors, for whom he worked for in his younger days. In his retirement years, his pride and joy was raising one of the finest vegetable gardens around. Farming was always in his blood, but everything he did, he did for his family, who remained the center of his live for all of his 86 years. Willie also loved socializing with family and friends; always involving great food and plenty of laughter.
