Filing for St. Mary city offices begins Tuesday

ST. MARY — Filing begins Tuesday in St. Mary for the April 7th, 2026 for the municipal city election.

 

Voters will find the mayor and four alderman on the ballot.

 

A mayor will be elected for a two year term and two aldermen will be elected to two year terms and two will be elected for one year terms.

 

The city officers whose terms are expiring in April are Mayor Adam Bequette, Ward 1 Alderman Dr. Zenon Duda and Alderman Kathy Bergmann and Alderman Rose Rosenzweig. The second Ward 1 seat is currently vacant.

 

All persons wishing to file for office may do so by filing with the city clerk between 9 a.m. Tuesday, December 9th and 5 p.m. Tuesday, December 31st.

 

All candidates must be a citizen of the United States and an inhabitant of the city for one year.

Those filing for alderman must be a resident of the ward from which he is elected.

 

Candidates must be in good standing with the city whereby all taxes and money due the city must be paid in full prior to the date of filing.
