A funeral will be held Friday, December 5, 2025 for 72-year-old Lee A. Cornelius of Perryville, Missouri who passed away Saturday, November 29, 2025 at his residence.
He was born July 22, 1953 in Perryville, MO to Wilfred and Marjorie (Sommer) Cornelius who both preceded him in death.
He and Janet Cato were married November 4, 1978 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville. She preceded him in death on August 12, 2023.
Survivors include a daughter: Emily (William) Blyzes of Perryville, MO; a son: Matthew Cornelius of Perryville, MO; two brothers: Glen Cornelius of Tuscon, AZ, and Dennis Cornelius of Perryville, MO; two sisters: Linda Foote of Ste. Genevieve, MO, and Susan Worthey of Ste. Genevieve, MO; and five five grandchildren, Holden, Alec, Logan, Manny, and Evelyn.
He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville.
Lee worked as a mechanic for Carl’s Muffler and also worked as a restorative technician for Sabreliner.
He enjoyed attending car shows with his 1967 Chevelle, as well as fishing and studying WWII history.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville and 8-10 a.m. Friday, December 5, 2025 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville.
A funeral for 72-year-old Lee A. Cornelius of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 5, 2025 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville with the Rev. Joseph Schlie officiating.
Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Perryville.
Memorial contributions may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Journey Hospice.
