JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control (DDCC) announces the arrest of Brian L. Webb, 53, of Ste. Genevieve, MO, for child sex crimes following an investigation by the DDCC Special Victims Unit (SVU). Members of the Farmington Police Department assisted with the arrest.
In October 2025, while conducting an online child pornography investigation, SVU investigators obtained a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, indicating an online user had uploaded a sexually explicit image identified as child pornography. Webb, a registered sex offender, was identified as the person of interest in the investigation.
On November 20, 2025, SVU investigators and members of the Farmington Police Department contacted Webb on Wallace Road, in Farmington, MO. Investigators interviewed Webb, and a search was conducted of his cellular device. During the search, investigators located several images identified as child pornography. Investigators also noticed Webb had several social media applications downloaded on his cellular device, which were not listed on his Missouri Sex Offender Registration Form. As a result, Webb was arrested and transported to the St. Francois County Jail and placed on an investigative hold.
On November 21, 2025, the St. Francois County Prosecuting Attorney formally charged Webb with five counts of felony Possession of Child Pornography. He is being held at the St. Francois County Jail on a $150,000.00 bond.
On November 21, 2025, the Ste. Genevieve County Prosecuting Attorney formally charged Web with one count of Promoting Child Pornography and two counts of Failing to Register as a Sex Offender. Webb has an additional $100,000.00 bond on the Ste. Genevieve County charges.
DDCC encourages internet users to promptly report to the Patrol or local law enforcement anyone who attempts to engage in unwanted, inappropriate, or sexualized communications with children.
The charges for which the above individual was arrested are mere accusations and not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of these charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
