LAS VEGAS, Nevada — A new study reveals that Missouri has the fourth most dramatic surge in nighttime burglaries during Thanksgiving month from 2023 to 2024.

The research by Las Vegas injury law firm Ladah Injury & Car Accident Lawyers analyzed crime data from 2023 to 2024 using the FBI’s Crime Data Explorer. The study measured nighttime burglary incidents during November (2023 and 2024) to identify states experiencing the most significant increases during the Thanksgiving holiday season.

Missouri ranks fourth with a 27 percent increase, rising from 238 nighttime burglaries in November 2023 to 303 incidents in November 2024.

Looking at the study, a spokesperson at Ladah Law and Car Accident Lawyers commented:

“The data reveals that states like Missouri demonstrate an alarming increase in nighttime burglaries during the Thanksgiving holiday season. These surges often reflect factors such as increased travel, unattended homes, and opportunistic criminal activity during periods when families gather elsewhere.

“This underscores the importance of community engagement, home security measures, and vigilant crime prevention strategies in keeping families and properties safe during vulnerable holiday periods.”
