MODHSS: New COVID-19 cases fall dramatically

JEFFERSON CITY — The number of new COVID-19 cases has fallen in Missouri and locally.

 

According to figures from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, the number of confirmed and probable cases for the seven days ending February 8 was 14,859 which is down 61 percent from the 37,994 for the seven days ending February 1st.

 

In Perry County there were 47 new confirmed and probable cases during the seven days ending February 8 which is down 65 percent from the 135 new cases of COVID-19 during the seven days ending Februrary 1st.

 

In Ste. Genevieve County there were 36 new confirmed and probable cases, which is down 70 percent from the 119  new cases of COVID-19 during the seven days ending February 1st.

 

The Department of Health and Senior Services reports the state vaccination rate is 55.6 percent. Perry County is 40.3 percent vaccinated and Ste. Genevieve County is 46.4 percent vaccinated.
