A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 22, 2025 for 61-year-old Terry L. Reinhardt of Red Bud, Illinois, who passed away at 6:20 a.m., Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Mercy Hospital South, St. Louis, Missouri.
He was born September 7, 1964 in Red Bud, Illinois to Ralph John Reinhardt, who preceded him in death, and Agatha Rose (nee Eggemeyer) Reinhardt who survives in Baldwin, Illinois.
He is also survived by two sons: Brett (Tracey) Reinhardt of Baldwin, IL and Nathan (Jennifer) Reinhardt of Modoc, IL; five grandchildren: Mariah, Braden & Shelby Reinhardt and Kayli and Willow Reinhardt; three siblings: Steve Reinhardt (Darcy Hatke) of Baldwin, IL, Kathy (Keith) Liefer of Freeburg, IL and Trisha (Mark) Ruebusch of Ruma, IL; his wife: Donna Dungan-Reinhardt of Red Bud, IL; six nieces and nephews: Jonathan and Justin Reinhardt, Kayla and Kassidy Liefer, and Landon and Easton Ruebusch and many cousins and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a sister-in-law: Stephanie Reinhardt
Terry received his Associate of Precision Machining Technology from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. He worked for several machine shops in the area.
He had a passion for BBQ, starting his professional journey in 2009. In 2017, he opened The Burnt End in Red Bud, becoming its beloved pit master.
Throughout his life, Terry participated in numerous BBQ competitions with Big Ray, with his most significant achievement being a first-place win in the seafood division at the World Cook-off in Las Vegas.
Beyond BBQ, Terry had a deep love for the outdoors. He cherished his family’s camping and fishing trips in Kentucky, as well as going on motorcycle rides, spring mushroom hunts, and, when he was younger, going goose and duck hunting.
Above all, Terry valued spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He was known for his jovial spirit and welcoming nature, never meeting a stranger.
Terry was of the Lutheran faith.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, November 21, 2025 at the Pechacek Funeral Homes, Red Bud, Illinois and 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Nocember 22, 2025 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Baldwin, Illinois.
