STE. GENEVIEVE – Three Ste. Genevieve High School band members recently performed impressively at the East-Central All-District Band auditions, held Nov. 4 at Festus High School.
Congratulations to Henry Hadel (5th chair alto saxophone), Wyatt Schmelzle (1st alternate tenor saxophone), and Sophia Jordan (2nd alternate alto saxophone) were named members of the 2025 East Central All District Band!
These talented students auditioned alongside top musicians in grades 9–12 from more than 20 schools across the East Central District. The competitive audition process included prepared etudes, memorized scales, and sight-reading—performing music the students had never seen before.
Students selected for the All-District Band rehearsed and performed in a concert at St. Clair High School on Nov. 8. All three students are now eligible to audition for the Missouri All-State Band in Columbia this December, the highest level of competition for high school instrumentalists in the state.
