Perryville man is hurt in Highway 61 crash

JEFFERSON CITY – A 74-year-old Perryville man received minor injuries in a traffic crash on Highway 61 in Perry County Wednesday afternoon.

 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the Perryville man was taken to St. Francois County Medical Center by Mercy Perry EMS.

 

According to the accident report, the Perryville man was the driver of a southbound 2022 Chevrolet 1500 which was struck by a northbound 2006 Chevrolet Impala which crossed the centerline. It was driven by a 33-year-old man from Brazoria, Texas. After the impact the 1500 overturned onto its passenger side and traveled off the roadway.

 

The patrol says the Perryville was buckled up, but the Texas man was not. The Texas man was uninjured.

 

The crash happened about 1:20 p.m. at Burma Lane.

 

The 1500 was a total loss and the Impala had moderate damage. Both were towed by Perry County Towing.
