A message from the East Missouri Action Agency

By Keri McCrorey, CCAP Executive Director

PARK HILLS – East Missouri Action Agency would like to let our communities and customers know that we are closely monitoring the current situation surrounding the government shut down and the impact to EMAA’s programs and services.

We know there have been questions and concerns as to whether assistance will be available.

East Missouri Action Agency works hard each year to plan ahead and ensure we are able to continue serving our communities and customers in the event any of our funding sources are unable to be accessed.

At this time, East Missouri Action Agency will continue to function as normal.

This includes our Community Services outreach offices and their programs and services, Head Start, and Housing services will continue as normal for the foreseeable future.

However, if the shutdown continues for an extended period, it could eventually affect some of the federally funded programs we administer. If at any time we expect an interruption to our programs and services we would work hard to give as much advance notice as possible.

We know that many of our customers and communities are impacted by programs such as SNAP and WIC benefits.

East Missouri Action Agency, while unable to fill these large gaps in services typically provided by other agencies, is dedicated to connecting customers with resources we have been made aware of.

East Missouri Action Agency and Community Action have been dedicated for over 60 years to serving our customers and communities.

Our network across Missouri and the nation stands strong together and will always be dedicated to helping people and changing lives.
