“The musical was written by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine,” said Director Robbie Riehn. “It follows the story of the Baker and his wife who have been cursed by a witch and cannot have a child. In order to lift the spell, they must retrieve four things: the cow as white as milk, the cape as red as blood, the hair as yellow as corn, and the slipper as pure as gold. Along the way they run into Little Red Riding Hood, the Wolf, Cinderella, Rapunzel, their Princes, Jack (and the Beanstalk), and a Mysterious Man. The Grimm Brothers’ fables are woven together and told by the Narrator.”
