Gilbert “Gib” Hoffman, 97, of Perryville, Missouri passed away Thursday, October 16, 2025 at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau, MO.
He was born March 25, 1928 in St. Louis, MO to Elva Hoffman and step-father, Edwin Weinrich.
Gib and Stella Nething were married November 8, 1953 in Washington, MO. She preceded him in death on October 18, 2002.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Gib retired from Gilster Mary Lee in 1993. He enjoyed playing cards, bingo, fishing, deer hunting and farming.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville, VFW Post #4282 and American Legion Post #133.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Hoffman, Linda Hoffman; daughter-in-law, Elaine Hoffman; three grandchildren, Joel (Mary Catherine Fetterhoff) Hoffman, Stacey (Chris) Durlacher, Tony Hoffman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Stella Hoffman; son, Bob Hoffman.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, October 24, 2025 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville and will continue from 8:30 am to 9:50 am on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville.
Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville with Rev. Matthew Marks officiating.
Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Perryville.
Graveside Military Honors will be provided by VFW Post #4282 and Delta Team.
Memorial contributions may be given to Immanuel Lutheran School Building Fund.
