STE. GENEVIEVE – Gavin Gegg has been named the Elks Student of the Month for October from Ste. Genevieve High School.
Gavin is the son of Wes and Stephanie Gegg.
Gavin’s scholastic honors include: being ranked No. 2 in his graduating class; being in the Top 10 Percent of his class all four years; being on the A honor roll and Summa Cum Laude all four years; earning a superscore of 36 on the ACT; and earning the following class awards: English I, Industrial Woods, Engineering Graphics, and ACT Prep. He also received the CollegeBoard Rural and Small-Town Recognition Award for 2024 and the CollegeBoard National Recognition Program Award for 2025.
Gavin has been involved in the following teams, clubs and organizations, including: SGHS Cross Country and Track teams all four years, SGHS Math Team, and French Club.
Gavin attended Missouri Scholars Academy at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He also participated in SEMO Math Field Day Competition, earning first place in Number Bases and third place in Mental Arithmetic, Exponents and Logarithms, Number Theory, and Non-Routine Problem Solving.
Gavin is employed at County Home Center.
In his free time, he enjoys playing video games, hiking, and riding bikes, dirtbikes and motorcycles. He also enjoys doing 3D printing and designing in Computer Aided Design programs.
He plans to attend Purdue University and obtain a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering.
