Ahead of the regularly scheduled open session meeting each month, the Board will conduct a closed meeting with a closed record and a closed vote for purposes listed in Revised Missouri Statute Section 610.021(3) and (13); and (6) and (14) beginning at 5:30 PM. If closed session business is not completed prior to the regular session held at 6:30 PM on the same night, the closed meeting will be recessed and resumed after the regular session.

A quorum being present and due notice having been published, the regular meeting of the Board of Education of the Ste. Genevieve County R-II School District was called to order on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at 6:31 PM by President Mr. David Bova.

- MSBA MONTHLY REPORT
The September Board Report took a look at what to watch for with district budgets during the first month of the new school year and how to plan not only for this year but for the long term. Plus, a preview of MSBA’s AI in Education Symposium and the 2025 MSBA Annual Conference.
The MSBA Board Report is a short monthly video featuring the latest news from MSBA and about public education in Missouri. The program is designed to be shown during local school board meetings.

- Determining Eligibility and Reporting Annual Bases – PSRS & PEERS With this item, the Ste. Genevieve R-II Board authorizes the filling and reporting of the Determining Eligibility and Reporting Annual Bases to the Public School Retirement System (PSRS) and the Public Education Employee Retirement System (PEERS).
- Meeting Date Change – October 2025 Recommendation to move October’s board meeting from the 21st to the 20th, due to scheduling conflicts.

- Enrollment Count – First Day of School
Superintendent Dr. Paul Taylor reported on the enrollment count for the first day of the 2025- 2026 school year.
- Annual Technology Report
Director of Technology Mrs. Nancy Toombs presented the annual update on the district’s technology usage and upgrade status.
- Principal Reports
Early Childhood Director Dr. Bethany Koetting, Ste. Genevieve Elementary Principal Dr. Nanya Gegg, Bloomsdale Elementary Principal Nathan Kingery, and Ste. Genevieve Middle School Principal Dr. Scott Mercer presented updates on activities and accomplishments in their respective buildings. High School Principal Dr. John Boyd introduced student Anna Fischer, who reported on activities and accomplishments at the High School.
