STE. GENEVIEVE – On September 27, 2025, GFWC members around the world will unite with one clear mission: to eradicate domestic and sexual violence. The GFWC International Day of Service (GFWC IDS) goes beyond raising awareness; it reflects our steadfast commitment to meaningful action. By embracing the principles of Educate, Engage, and Empower, clubs can spark real change and provide essential support to survivors. The GFWC Woman’s Club of Ste. Genevieve and more than 1,000 clubs across the U.S. will be participating.
Despite decades of progress, domestic and sexual violence remain pervasive challenges, with many needs still unmet— shelter, legal aid, housing, and critical services. Violence is a leading cause of homelessness among women and children and profoundly impacts economic stability, employment, and health outcomes. Survivors often face barriers due to race, disability, language, or social status, making tailored, compassionate support vital. Our approach centers on innovation and coordinated local action, which promotes a public health framework and community driven solutions. Ending violence requires courage, compassion, and a recognition that survivors are resilient individuals who deserve dignity and respect.
On Saturday, September 27 until noon, GFWC Woman’s Club of Ste. Genevieve will be accepting donations of laundry detergent, dish soap, toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, hair brushes, body wash, diapers, baby wipes and more items listed at the following drop off locations: Bloomsdale Bank, Rozier’s Country Mart and Save-A-Lot. All the items will be donated to shelters to support the needs of survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
