A memorial service will be held Friday, October 3, 2025 for 77-year-old Ervin “Terry” Reid of Perryville, Missouri who passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Kindred Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
He was born January 27, 1948 in Perryville, MO to Clemon Leo and Freda (Johnson) Reid who both preceded him in death.
Survivors include longtime girlfriend: Susan Layton of Perryville; a sister: Carol (Clinton) Detjen of Perryville; two step-children: Shelley Layton and Cary Layton; three grandchildren: Brandon Layton, Colleen Layton, and Ashtin Layton; and nine great-grandchildren all of Perryville.
He was also preceded in death by his sisters: Sue, Betty and Pauline; brothers: Howard, Paul, J.R., Bob, Donald, Ralph, Bill and Dave.
Terry served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He was of the Baptist faith.
He worked as a production manager at Solar Press for 17 years and went on to retired from Gilster Mary Lee as a line operator after 5 years.
Terry enjoyed fishing and watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Mizzou Tigers. But, most of all he loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his dog “Nick”.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m.Friday, October 3, 2025 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.
A memorial service for 77-year-old Ervin “Terry” Reid of Perryville will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2025 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville with Rev. Caleb Mueller officiating.
Military honors will be provided by the Delta Team and VFW Post No. 4282.
Burial will be at Home Cemetery in Perryville at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be given to Humane Society of Southeast Missouri or American Heart Association.
