JEFFERSON CITY – Late Friday afternoon, September 19th, as the world was still grieving Charlie Kirk and preparing for his memorial, Judge Dan Green issued a ruling on HJR 73 (the 2026 Amendment 3) to allow it to go on the ballot in 2026 but in the same ruling requiring a rewrite of the already vetted truthful ballot language. This case was brought by the liberal left ACLU and supported by Planned Parenthood.
“Missouri Right to Life is very disappointed in the judge’s decision requiring the ballot language rewrite and supports the language originally passed by the duly elected representatives of the people in the 2025 legislative session. This is the language that Missouri voters should see on the ballot”, said Susan Klein, Executive Director of Missouri Right to Life.
Klein continued, “Here we go again, the court is seeking to force the legislature, through the Secretary of State to do the bidding of the ACLU and Planned Parenthood and trying to place lies on the 2026 ballot.”
“History and the courts repeat themselves. It has been proven that the original ballot language on the 2024 pro-abortion initiative written by Secretary of State Ashcroft was truthful and has now been shown by court decisions to do exactly what was said would happen if it passed,” Klein continued, “Because the courts ultimately rewrote this truthful ballot language and placed deceitful language on the ballot that mislead Missouri voters, women are at high risk of harm and abortion is allowed through all 9 months of pregnancy.”
Secretary of State Hoskins, with the help of the legislators instrumental in the passage of HJR 73, has been given seven days to rewrite the ballot language and the ballot summary. We hope the courts will look at the facts that will be presented to them again and allow the truth of the 2026 Amendment 3 to move forward.
“Missourians and Americans are tired of untruths and liberal policies. Why are the courts, the ACLU and Planned Parenthood afraid of putting the truth before the general public?”
Pray for Missouri, as our Secretary of State and our Legislators are working to ensure that Missourians are presented with the truth on the ballot in 2026.
