A funeral will be held Thursday, February 10, 2022 for 89-year-old Lucy Mary Bridgewater of Festus who passed away Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City.
She was born Oct. 22, 1932, in Maspeth, N.Y., the daughter of Mary Ann (Buckles) and Frank Stines who both preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her husband of 65 years: William Henry “Bill” Bridgewater.
She is survived by two sons: Tom (Pam) Bridgewater of Ste. Genevieve County and Terry (Ellen) Bridgewater of Festus; two sisters-in-law: Palmie Trask and Janet Walker; eight grandchildren: William “Billy” (Jennifer) Bridgewater, Angela (Doug Boter) Bridgewater, Jeffrey (Amanda) Bridgewater, Zachary (Michelle) Bridgewater, Ethan (Chelby) Bridgewater, Lauren (Matthew) Smith, Brandy (Stuart Raggo) Turner and Travis (Patricia) Turner; and 10 great-grandchildren: Brandon (fiance Katelyn), Rhieland, Charlotte, Ellie, Carter, Cohen, Autumn and Olivia Bridgewater and Hayden and Kylee Turner.
She was also preceded in death by a sister: Elizabeth “Betty” Seitz.
She owned the Record Den and the Festus Sport Shop and was a retired assistant manager of the Twin City Wal-Mart, where she was one of the first employees.
She was a member of the Festus-Crystal City Conservation Club.
She enjoyed crocheting, playing hot rummy (a card game) and bingo, and traveling, particularly to Branson.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, at the Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus.
A funeral for 89-year-old Lucy Mary Bridgewater of Festus will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, at the funeral home, officiated by Deacon Jerry Stoverink.
Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City.
Memorials may be made to the chaplain’s fund at Mercy Hospital Jefferson.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Vinyard Funeral Home.
