Norman Edwin Koenig, 87, of Perryville, Missouri passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at his residence.
He was born November 14, 1937 in Point Rest, MO to Edwin Theodore and Alma Lydia (Luehrs) Koenig.
Norman and Euline Bachmann were married November 25, 1961. She preceded him in death on May 4, 2025.
He served in the National Guard for six years.
Norman was a member of the American Legion Post #133 and a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar where he served as president and vice-president of the Church Council. He also was president of the AAL Branch in Farrar, and served on the Salem Lutheran School Board in Farrar.
He worked in Sales and Service at Miners Lumber Company and as a Maintenance Technician for Gilster MaryLee, as well as a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed his John Deere tractors, woodworking, dancing, and daily bible devotions.
Survivors include son, Danny Koenig; two daughters, JoAnn (Dan) Steffens, Carol (Daniel) Hemmann; two brothers, Willis (Janet) Koenig, Wayne (Mary) Koenig; two brother-in-laws, Ronald Wiebusch, Raymond Bachmann; sister-in-law, Aldine (Lee) Muench; five grandchildren, Melissa (Cary) Roth, Bryant (Tiffany) Steffens, Casey Hemmann, Laura (Rocky) Dosenbach, Nicole (Jake) Terhaar; four great-grandchildren, Cohen Roth, Cailyn Roth, Ayda Dosenbach, Sawyer Steffens; step great-grandson, Aaron Svehla.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, daughter-in-law, Connie Koenig; sister, Ruby Wiebusch; brother, Dennis Koenig; brothers and sisters-in-law, Orville & Esther Bachmann, Norman & Dorothy Bachmann, Vernold & Reva Bachmann, Anne Bachmann, Loretta & William Givens.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, August 8, 2025 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.
Visitation will continue from 8:30 am to 10:00 am Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar.
Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar with Rev. John Hellwege officiating.
Burial will be at Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Farrar.
Millitary honors will be provided by the Delta Team and American Legion #133.
Memorial contributions may be given to Salem Lutheran Church or Saxony Lutheran High School.
