Air quality remains good in region

PERRYVILLE – The latest ozone report has been released.

 

Southeast Missouri Regional Planning Commission Jeremy Tanz reports “Regionally we have done very well with ozone readings since June 15th even with the days of high heat.  According to the air quality index our air quality has remained stable with Good air quality with only four days in July in the low part of Moderate air quality. 

 

“The Farrar monitor shown the highest readings in the region of 59 ppb in June and 58 ppb in July.  The Bonne Terre monitor was a little lower with 54 ppb in June and 55 ppb in July. 

 

“Statewide, readings are also looking good with a few exceptions.  The St. Louis region has not recorded any exceedances yet this year, but the Kansas City area has had 4 with the highest being at the Rocky Creek monitor with readings of 79 on June 16 and 88 on July 9th.  July 9th also had another exceedance in the Kansas City area on the Trimble monitor of 75.”
