CHESTER – The Mississippi Valley Art Guild has announced its August events.
On Saturday, August 9, from 1-3 p.m., the Mississippi Valley Art Guild will be hosting a Back to School Art Party.
There will be activities such as creating bookmarks, rock painting.
Those who particpate may decorate their own cupcake (and eat it). They can then take home some free art supplies such as markers, colored pencils, watercolor paint sets, etc. This event is open to all school age children.
The Art Guild is collaborating with the Chester Public Library with a Book Art Event from 1 – 3 p.m. Thursday, August 23. People of all ages may draw, paint, or sculpt a favorite character or scene from their favorite book-their own book or one that was checked out of the library. The MVAG will offer supplies and assist where needed. Once the artwork is complete, it will be displayed at the Chester Public Library sometime in September.

In addition, during August, some new classes will be announced soon such as beginning crochet, Tangle Art, and more.
