Du Quoin, IL – The Du Quoin State Fair has an extensive array of entertainment planned for the mile and half mile tracks.
The mile track will host three days of harness racing on August 25, 26, and 27 starting at 4 p.m.
“Harness racing is a crowd favorite at the Du Quoin State Fair,” said IDOA Director Jerry Costello II. “We invite everyone to join us for these exciting races. You’ll find yourself on the edge of your seat, even if you have never experienced a horse race before.”
In addition to horse racing, a variety of motor sports are also scheduled.
The Half Mile Track features the Sizemore MX Race Saturday, Aug. 23 and Sunday, Aug. 24 at noon. Spectator fee is $5. A pit pass is $10 per person. Kids 4 and under are free.
The ITPA Truck & Tractor Pulls will be held Monday, Aug. 25 and Tuesday, Aug. 26 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for kids ages 3-13 and kids 3 and under are free.
The Demolition Derby will be held Saturday, Aug. 30 at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 for ages 13 and up. Kids 12 and under are $5. Kids under 3 are free.
“The Du Quoin State Fair schedule is packed with exciting and family-friendly entertainment options,” said Luke Davison, Du Quoin State Fair Manager. “Our team worked hard to bring low cost and no cost entertainment options to the fair so families could afford to enjoy time together and create memories at this end-of-summer event.”
The Du Quoin State Fair runs from August 22 – September 1. Admission to the fair is free, and parking is free on August 22.
