JEFFERSON CITY — Two Ste. Genevieve residents were among three persons hurt in a three-vehicle traffic crash on I-270 in St. Louis County Tuesday afternoon.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports two of the injured persons were in a 2017 Jeep Cherokee: the driver of the Jeep, a 27-year-old Ste. Genevieve man and a passenger, a 46-year-old Ste. Genevieve woman. Each had minor injuries.
The driver of a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500, a 16-year-old boy from St. Peters was not injured but a passenger in the pickup, a 27-year-old man from Bonne Terre had minor injuries.
All three injured persons were taken to Parkland Health Center.
The highway patrol report indicates all three vehicles were northbound on the eastbound I-270 west of Missouri Route 100.
The 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by a 23-year-old Overland man was in the lead, with the 2017 Jeep and the 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 traveling behind. The Overland man stopped his vehicle because of congestion, and the driver of the Jeep did the same. However the driver of the third vehicle, the 2005 Dodge Ram was unable to stop in time and his vehicle struck the rear of the Jeep, knocking it into the rear of the 2013 Dodge Ram.
The Jeep had moderate damage and was left roadside. The two Dodge Rams had minor damage and were driven from the scene.
The crash happened about 3:55 p.m.
