Missouri House Special Interim Committee on Property Tax Reform announces hearing date

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Missouri House of Representatives has announced the schedule for a series of informational hearings to be held across the state by the Special Interim Committee on Property Tax Reform. (None of the hearings will be held in Southeast Missouri.)

These hearings are part of the committee’s ongoing work to examine Missouri’s property tax system and recommend solutions that promote fairness, transparency, and sustainability.

Rep. Tim Taylor, chairman of the committee, encourages all Missourians to attend and share their perspectives. 

“We look forward to hearing directly from citizens, local officials, and stakeholders about how we can improve the property tax system to serve Missourians better,” Taylor, R-Bunceton, said. “The goal of this committee is to work together to find common-sense reforms and solutions that protect homeowners, promote economic stability, and ensure accountability to benefit all citizens of our state.”

The hearings are scheduled as follows:

  • July 16 — Jefferson City
    11:00 AM — State Capitol, House Hearing Room 3
  • July 30 — Lebanon
    5:30 PM — Wallace Center, 325 Harwood Ave, Lebanon, MO
  • August 13 — Kansas City
    5:30 PM — Board Room at Union Station, 30 W Pershing Road, Kansas City, MO
  • August 20 — St. Louis
    5:30 PM — Center of Clayton, 50 Gay Ave, Clayton, MO
  • August 27 — Macon
    5:30 PM — Macon Comfort Inn, 1821 N Missouri, Macon, MO
  • September 3 — Jefferson City
    11:00 AM — State Capitol, House Hearing Room 3
