EVANSVILLE, Ill. – Members of the Christ Our Savior FFA spent three days in Springfield, Ill. recently for the State FFA Convention.
It was a great convention for the members, but a sad convention as well. The students had the opportunity to listen to the retiring addresses from the major state officers, meet new friends, explore the college/career fair, watch and cheer on friends from section 22 as they won awards and they learned some life lessons from our National officer Thad. Members had the privilege of having great conversations with state officers from Oklahoma and Iowa. Charlie performed on stage and outside with the state band.
Members who attended are Charlie Rahlfs, James Wandro, Brianna Brake, Christine Liefer, Lacee Liefer, Olivia Crank, Brian Liefer and Isaac Luebkemann.
At the last session the members were able to join in and build the tunnel for the State officers to run through. After the final session members took off their jackets for the final time as a Christ Our Savior FFA member. There were tears and hugs shared. Our time together was bitter sweet. The kids made memories together with some fun at Scheels, in the pool and playing games at the hotel. We want to thank everyone who has supported our FFA over the last nine years. Your dedication to our program has meant a lot! You have helped to develop and shape the Christ Our Savior FFA members into the fine people they are today.
Written by FFA advisor Lisa Luebkemann for the final time.
