PERRYVILLE — Citizens Electric Corporation (CEC) is pleased to announce the 2022 high school senior round of scholarships is now open. In addition to scholarship funding, CEC is offering financial support for a trip to Washington D.C. and Jefferson City as part of the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives Youth Tour and CYCLE programs.
Eight, one-thousand-dollar scholarships are available to current high school seniors whose parent or guardian resides within the CEC territory. Scholarship applications and guidelines can be found by visiting www.cecmo.com/scholarships
Youth Tour is an opportunity for high school juniors to experience the finest museums in the world and visit America’s most historic monuments in Washington D.C. Selected delegates meet with their elected officials and explore Capitol Hill. They learn about the impact electric cooperatives have on their communities and around the world.
The Cooperative Youth Conference and Leadership Experience or CYCLE program is a three-day leadership conference held annually in Jefferson City in late July. The focus is to show students more about electric cooperatives, teach leadership skills and experience Missouri state government. The program includes nationally known speakers, tours of great Missouri museums, and a day at the state Capitol.
Youth Tour and CYCLE details can be found by visiting www.cecmo.com/youthtour. All applications are due March 1, 2022.
