JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Begin your journey as an archer by attending one of the many hands-on Learn2 Aim workshops Missouri State Parks is offering this summer! This is a great opportunity to learn new skills, such as the basics of archery and atlatl throwing, under the watchful eyes of an experienced instructor.
Missouri State Parks provides the equipment including bows, arrows, atlatls, targets and expertise in a safe environment; participants bring their enthusiasm to learn a skill that ties to Missouri’s ancient history. Before registering, please note:
- Participants must be at least 10 years of age. Children 17 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The parent/guardian does not have to participate but must provide adult supervision.
- Participants should be comfortable around archery and atlatl equipment.
- This event will be held in a Missouri state park or historic site and all rules and regulations apply.
- This is a family-oriented event. Alcohol and tobacco products are not allowed while participating in the Learn2 Aim program.

- Saturday, May 31, 10 a.m.-noon at the Anita B. Gorman Conservation Discovery Center, 4750 Troost Ave., Kansas City.
- Tuesday, June 3, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Anita B. Gorman Conservation Discovery Center, 4750 Troost Ave., Kansas City.
- Saturday, June 7, 1-3 p.m. at Nathan and Olive Boone Homestead State Historic Site, 7850 N. State Highway V, Ash Grove.
- Friday, June 13, and Saturday, June 14, 9-11 a.m. at Sam A. Baker State Park, 5580 State Highway 143, Patterson.
- Tuesday, June 17, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Anita B. Gorman Conservation Discovery Center, 4750 Troost Ave., Kansas City.
