PERRYVILLE – The Board of Education last week recognized Cooper Leible for earning a gold medal at the State SkillsUSA Contest.
Cooper took first place in Information Technology.
The Board of Education also recognized Perryville Elementary students who earned The Show Me Reader and Mark Twain Awards.
The students who have earned the Show Me Reader Award during this school year are:

To earn the Show Me Reader Award, students must read 50 Show Me Reader-nominated books and pass a reading assessment with a score of 80 or higher. These books are selected by Missouri students in grades 1-3, are written by American authors, and have strong literary value.
The students who have earned the Mark Twain Award during this school year are:

- Penelope Brakefield
- Chiharu Akita
- Rox Johnson
To earn the Mark Twain Award, students must read 10 Mark Twain Award-winning books. These books are selected by Missouri students in Grades 4-6, are written by American authors, and have literary value which may enrich children’s personal lives.
