POTOSI – Local farmers will have an opportunity to visit with Agronomist, Gatlin Bunton and Ag Business Specialist, Rachel Hopkins about native grass for livestock operations. Native grass is ideally suited to the Ozark terrain and provides wonderful forage during the summer months. See how this working cattle operation utilizes native grass to produce more forage during the summer months. Discussions will cover native plants, viewing established and new stands, cost-share opportunities and how to establish native grass.
The pasture walk take place on Friday, May 30 in Davisville, Missouri. The walk will start at 5 PM and will go until approximately 7 PM. There will be a special section for FFA students beginning at 4 PM on forage ID.
