Marion A. Brown

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2025 for 74-year-old Marion A. Brown of Saint Mary, Mo. who passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2025 in Perryville, Mo.

He was born December 20, 1950 to Cletus Merlin and Retha (Gale) Brown who both preceded him in death.

He married Patti L. Surman were July 11, 1969. She survives in St. Mary.

He is also survived by a son: Tyson Brown of Perryville; a daughter: Kelly Brown of St. Mary; and two grandchildren: Alexis (Payton) Nortin and Colt Brown.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert ” Bob” Brown.

 

He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era.

Marion was a proud lifelong grain & livestock farmer and he worked 44 years at Mississippi Lime Kiln in Ste. Genevieve. He was a friend to many and never met a stranger. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow up.

He was a member of the AmVets Post #94 in Perryville, American Legion Post #150 in Ste. Genevieve, MO, Little Saline Sportsman Club in Ozora, MO, Saline Masonic Lodge #226 AF & AM in St. Mary, MO.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville with a American Legion Post #150 Wake service at 5:00 pm and a Masonic Wake Service at 6:15 pm.

Visitation will continue from 8:00 am to 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at the funeral home.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville with Deacon John Darin officiating.

Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville.

Graveside Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Post #133 and Delta Team.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Journey Hospice, Missouri National Veterans Memorial or Shriners Children’s Hospital.
